Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is most famous for playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The show ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in the show as Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick got a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) as well as What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, a speech and family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her dad was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and has stated that she goes to Passover seders.
